How to Join Indooroopilly
Toastmasters
FACT: Manuals, memberships and magazines don’t make a strong
speaker !
It is only through active participation a Speaking Club or
Organisation that you will gain the experience and feedback
required to improve your communication skills. Your confidence
will improve as you progress, and the butterflies in your
stomach will be trained to fly away.
Costs and Joining
Enjoy a free night on us as you
discover the wonderment of what Toastmasters has to
offer. All meetings include light refreshments, tea and
coffee, hosted in a professional function centre.
Casual attendance fees after the initial
visit is $5 per evening.
A discounted pre-paid system is in place to
reduce your evening costs, and to save the worries of having to
arrange money on the night. This pre-paid system is paid at the
time of semi-annual renewals, or when first joining as a member
to the Club.
Annual fees are $120. However this is
broken down into two semi-annual payments of
$60, which are due at the start of March and
the start of September each year. Members that are joining
outside of these months will respectfully pay a pro-rata amount
of the semi-annual fee.
A once-off Lifetime
Registration Membership fee of
$40 is payable at the time of joining and is
sent to Toastmasters International which registers you within
the organisation, which includes a bound copy of the
Indooroopilly Toastmasters Guide.
Upon joining our club, you will
receive
1. A new member's
kit which contains the Competent Communication
Manual (communication track) and the Competent
Leader Manual (leadership track). The CC Manual is the
first in a series of 16 speech manuals which will lead you
through your Toastmasters educational program. The program is
designed so that you can work at your own pace, with several
internationally recognised awards along the way
2. The Indooroopilly
Toastmasters Club Membership book. Also called The
Blue Book. It contains the description of segments that are
currently being used within the Club, as well as “How to run
professional meetings”, and the history of the Club.
3. The Club
Badge. This provides you with an Id as well as a sense
of belonging, when you join the Club.
Membership Benefits
As part of your membership to our Club you will receive the
following items :
Communications & Leadership Workbook -
This contains guidelines and advice for the first ten speeches
you will make at Toastmasters. Upon completion, you will
receive a CC (Competent Communicator) Award and a letter
(optional) will be sent to your employer, telling them of your
achievement.
Variety of Public Speaking Manuals - Manual
topics include tips for adding strength and authority to your
voice, how to become skilled in non-verbal communication and
tips and techniques for giving helpful evaluations.
Membership Certificate - An official
certificate to frame and display.
"The Toastmaster" Magazine - An
award-winning monthly publication that offers the latest
insights on speaking and leadership techniques.
Indooroopilly Toastmasters Guide - To
complement the Communications and Leadership Manual provided to
members by Toastmasters International, Indooroopilly
Toastmasters club has developed a guide for new members. This
guide provides detailed explanations on how to plan and present
any segment in the programme. You will be presented with your
own copy of the Indooroopilly Guide when you join our club.

application form while you visit on the night. We have
withdrawn the form from this website.
